Can I run a 16 ohm 2x12 tube amp through an 8 ohm 4x12 cab?

I have a Peavey Vypyr 120 Tube model, and I can run it through a cab, but the cab im looking at is the 8 ohm Marshall MG cab. Will this destroy my amp or cab? Will it sound like ****?
