Do i have the wrong amplifier?

i play Guitar, but i cant get the right sound from my amp/guitar. I want to sound like the libertines/dirty pretty things/arctic monkeys. I have an Epiphone les paul standard and a peavey vypyr 15 watt. I cant really get the right sound. Will buying a vox ac30 help me out? x
