Help with choosing a bass guitar?

I have been playing for about 3 years and Im looking at getting a new bass guitar I have about �150 to spend and i want your advice. I was thinking about getting a sg style bass but they only come in two makes the Westfield B2000 or the Epiphone EB3 and EB0 although i would Probaly have the EB3. But anyway i heard that Westfield and Epiphone is a bad bass make. I would like a 4 string bass my current bass is a 5 Peavey International series. So couls you tell me if Epiphone and Westfield are decent makes and also what bass or what make you think i should get thanks for everything! :D
