Why does my guitar amp start making a crunchy/static sound when I play it?

I have a Peavey Rage 158 transtube series and I play it with a Boss DS-1 pedal. Everytime I play a note you hear a crunchy and static sound mixed. It's not distortion because it didn't sound like that before. Also it overheats very quickly. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?

Tube amp head alternative for guitar?

I have a peavey vypyr modeling amp and i want to get that rich sound of a tube amp with out paying a lot. Is there like a pedal with a tube in it that makes that nice sounding distortion. I would like to get away with some money still in my pockets (I'm 15) so i don't want to pay more than 100 dollars for something decent that will get me close to that sound. Any suggestions?

Which realignment do you like better?

The second one it will depend on what teams are put in each division. So I will wait and see. I would love to see Columbus in the Pens division. Detroit also makes sense to move east but then what about the rivalry with chicago.

Will effects pedals work with the Peavey Vypyr?

I have a Peavey Vypyr modeling amplifier. I heard from someone that because of its modeling capabilities, it does not work well with stomp boxes or effects pedals. I have been looking into the Digitech Whammy and the Dunlop Cry Baby. Will these work? All answers are appreciated.

Need help with my guitar amp!?

Try the easy stuff first i.e. try the amp with another guitar and lead. If the cracking persists it's more likely to be one of the pre-amp tubes. Make sure no household appliances are being used when you are using your amp as it can pick up and amplify rubbish from washing machines and vacuum cleaners etc.
